Apache Behavioral Health Employment
The ABHS Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is responsible for: Oversees medical services and evaluates the quality and integrity of services provided to clients Acts in an advisory position in all major clinical programs Supervisors all Quality Management/Utilization Management activities including Prior Authorizations Ensures timely medical decisions Coordinates with the Indian Health Services (IHS) Psychiatrist to ensure medical services are provided in compliance with the requirements of IHS, Arizona Division of Behavioral Health Services and AHCCCS. Attends ADHS/DBHS Medical Officers monthly meetings and participates in peer review activities. Serves the chairperson of the ABHS Quality Management Committee and oversight of Prior Authorizations and Quality of Care concerns. Is available via telemed or teleconference to participate in monthly, or as needed, clinical staffing and other meetings as required. Is available on site at least two to four days per month to oversee activities at ABHS.

Indian Health Service Behavioral Health
The Intake Clinician works closely with the intake coordinators to ensure that clients are enrolled and assessed with ABHS within 72 hours of initial client contact. The intake clinician works closely with supervisors to appropriately triage clients to the correct ABHS department based on clinical needs.
Science Technology Engineering Math (STEM) and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Instructor
This position is responsible for leading in the delivery of the STEM SEL curriculum and hands-on learning projects in classroom environments and during extracurricular activities outside of school; supporting teachers and STEM SEL Staff with the integration of STEM SEL projects to successfully integrate the use of effective strategies in order to enhance student learning. The STEM SEL Instructor also acts as a Behavioral Health Technician, writing behavioral notes on specific students regarding the implementation of their Behavioral Learning Plan. In addition the STEM SEL Instructor’s specific duties include delivering STEM projects and SEL lessons directly to students. The STEM SEL instructor needs a valid AZ substitute teaching license to be able to work with students without direct supervision or assistance on occasion.
This is a position that serves to provide to provide suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention outreach services to the people and organizations of the White Mountain Apache Tribe.
Life Is Precious Prevention Specialist
The ABHS Manager of Residential services is responsible for: Supports and participates in hiring procedure as needed. Supports and participates in meaningful employee orientation. Ensures that responsible team members adequately prepare new employees to assume their work duties. Leads and supervises the residential team by example, encouraging teamwork, promoting the quality customer service. Motivates staff to perform consistent, quality work and maintains high employee satisfaction through regular communication, individual coaching and celebration of achievements. Provide an "open-door" to employees addressing concerns. Oversees and participates in the continuing education and development of employees. Ensures appropriate response and follow up to on-the-job injuries as reported by employees. Establishes working relationships with residents and their families as well as communicating information to the Clinical Director. Provides counseling to residents when requested. Encourages communication among supervisory team members both formally and informally through regular meetings.
Manager of Residential Services
The BHT STEM Tech provides therapeutic and recreational services by organizing, planning, and running ABHS’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) school and after school programs at schools serving White Mountain Apache Children. BHTs provide services to clients who
have mental health diagnoses and will commonly be involved in screening potential clients. BHTs
also provide therapeutic services during the summer or other breaks from school by organizing,
planning, and running camps.
Behavioral Health Technician (BHT): Science, Technology, Engineering, Math
The BHPP provides therapeutic and recreational services to ABHS clients by supporting the ABHS school programs. These functions include assisting with running of ABHS school enrichment program and summer camps, to children and teenagers. They do this by working closely with ABHS behavioral health professionals (BHPs) and behavioral health technicians (BHTs). BHPPs provide therapeutic and recreational services by assisting in the organization, planning, and running of ABHS ancillary programs, such as afterschool and camps. Additionally, BHPPs may assist BHTs as needed by providing support to children and teens who are receiving ancillary services. BHPPs work closely with Human Resources in the timely completion of all agency and/or departmental documentation, such as documentation of hours worked, staff development, performance
evaluations, or other professional forms as needed. BHPPs are responsible to comply with ABHS policies and with legal requirements pertaining to their work. BHPPs shall receive guidance from BHTs and supervision from BHPs regularly.
Behavioral Health Paraprofessional (BHPP)
The BHT School Coach provides therapeutic and recreational services by organizing, planning, and
running ABHS’s school and after school programs at schools serving White Mountain Apache
Children. BHTs provide services to clients who have mental health diagnoses and will commonly be
involved in screening potential clients. BHTs also provide therapeutic services during the summer or
other breaks from school by organizing, planning, and running camps.
Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) School Coach
This is a position that serves two functions:
(1) to provides direct mental health counseling services to clients and their families; and
(2) to provide outreach prevention, intervention, postvention services in the area of suicide prevention to the people and organizations of the White Mountain Apache Tribe.
Mental Health Counselor
This Position provides facilitation services to clients enrolled or eligible to be enrolled with Apache Behavioral Health Services, specifically with the birth to age 5 population. The Facilitator helps to provides referral services to the appropriate entities and acts in collaboration with other CFT and ART team members, including therapists, case managers, families, and other stakeholders. This position will also act as an advocate for the client with other service providers when appropriate to do so.
BIRTH TO 5 CHILD AND FAMILY TEAM FACILITATOR
The Mobile Intake/Assessment Clinician works closely with the on-call staff, Life is Precious Team, and intake staff to ensure that clients are enrolled and/or assessed by Apache Behavioral Health Services (ABHS). The Mobile Intake/Assessment Clinician completes on-call crisis assessments at the Detention Center and Hospital during regular business hours. The Mobile Intake/Assessment Clinician provides back-up support to the office-based intake staff and offers flexibility in supporting the clinical staff and community when an unscheduled assessment is needed. The Mobile Intake/Assessment Clinician works closely with supervisors to appropriately triage clients to the correct ABHS department based on clinical needs.
MOBILE INTAKE/ASSESSMENT CLINICIAN TEAM FACILITATOR
This Position provides therapeutic services to clients enrolled or eligible to be enrolled with Apache Behavioral Health Services, specifically with the birth to age 5 population. The Birth to 5 Therapist provides assessment, counseling, and clinical support for children ages 0-5 and their families. The Birth to 5 Therapist also assists with referral services to the appropriate entities and acts in collaboration with other CFT and ART team members, including other therapists, case managers, families, and other stakeholders. This position will also act as an advocate for the client with other service providers when appropriate to do so.
BIRTH TO 5 CHILD AND FAMILY TEAM THERAPIST
This position provides supportive mental health services to all clients enrolled at ABHS and in the Living With Purpose program. Services will include life skills training, assistance with daily needs i.e. shopping, ADLS, socializing opportunities and procuring and maintaining housing. Provides supplemental counseling and substance abuse support services to adults, and other support persons and/or families to develop a natural support system for clients. Provides referral to appropriate ABHS services and acts in collaboration with assigned clinician as case manager. Assists in coordination of the Living with Purpose program schedule, tasks, and work projects.
